A primary care clinic provides short-term primary medical care for people on the Need a Family Practice Registry.
Most appointments will be provided over the phone. In some cases, you may be offered a video appointment. The primary care provider will determine if you need to be seen in-person based on your health care need.

How can I make an appointment?
Primary care clinics do not offer walk-in services. All appointments must be pre-booked, and are for people who do not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner.
If you do not have a primary care provider, please add your name to the Need a Family Practice Registry online.
For clinics located in New Glasgow and Truro:
Please call between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., Monday through Friday, to make an appointment. These clinics are temporary, and will be offering same-day or next-day appointments between April 6 and June 30, 2020.
For clinics in Glace Bay, Halifax, Kentville and Lunenburg:
These primary care clinics contact people directly from the registry to make an appointment, in chronological order, based on when your name has been added to the list.
People on the registry, including those who are patients of a primary care clinic, are assisted with finding a primary care provider in their area when NSHA is aware of family practices accepting new patients.
